Me.... A Runner?????

I love all of you!!! I'm just wanting to give each of you who read
my blog a big "e-HUG" today!!! So.. picture a tight squeeze and lots
of love and appreciation from me to you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the encouragement and
cheering. I never knew how important cheerleaders are to a
team. The funny thing is that I'm realizing more and more that
me losing weight and getting healthy is TEAM work. I was
not created by my heavenly father to do this alone, but have
always tried to. I love you all more than words can express.

This morning on treadmill when I hit the last 30 seconds of
doing my jogging portion... I upped it to 5.3!! Yes, you read
it correctly- 5.3!!! I'm a runner and didn't even know it.
This is such exciting news- yahoo. I've secretly always wanted
to be a runner... they appear to be such free spirited, yet
committed individuals. That's me!!! I'm claiming it right now
in Jesus name that I, Kara Townsend, am a runner.
I will start slow- which is what I'm doing and build up.
My long term goal- probably 18 months from now.. is
to run a mini-marathon. Anyone gonna join me? God's
teaching me alot about "running the race of my life" and
that I can NOT do it alone. I need support. I need prayer.
I need to be real and honest. I need to be committed to the
long haul... a healthy lifestyle and body that glorifies
Him.

If you think about a race, it's a moment by moment,
concerted effort to put one foot in front of the other until
you reach the finish line. Our finish line is Heaven... the day
we enter HIS glorious eternal kingdom. Let us never forget
that we are running a race and there is a grand prize at the
end- a prize more valuable than anything we've ever known
or experienced.
So dear friends...let's keep our eye on the prize and run this
race of life arm in arm.
i love you all,
kara

Call Wabash Valley...she's officially lost it. Wow, the Lord is doing amazing things in you. You can mark me down as a solid no in your minimarathon quest. I think I'd die with a 5K. Walking maybe....but running-you go girl.

No back to you regularly scheduled program of fluff and stuff;-)

I am also a solid "no thank you" in regards to running a marathon. I am not a runner and have no desire to train to be one. My breathing gets so out of whack...tasting blood in your throat (used to happen to me when I ran in PE as a kid)...not a good thing. I will just cling to my personal best time for running a mile--8:44--granted,that was in 8th grade and I was not healthy then either--but much healthier than I am now.

Wow, so good for you for feeling that God's calling you to be runner...and being excited about it. That's great!
